ATP Finals 2022: The landing of the ATP masters in the Davis Cup Final Phase: Pavic and Mektic will be the last to arrive

While teams like Spain already have their five members training in Malaga with a view to the Davis Cup Final Phase, other teams are still waiting for the incorporation of some of their best men. This is the case of Canada and the United States.

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz, the only two top10 in the competition and participants in the Turin Masters Cup, will land this Monday in Andalusia. The Canadian was eliminated precisely by Fritz in the group stage.

The American, on the other hand, fell this Saturday in the semifinals with Novak Djokovic. The Yankee team will not debut in the Final Phase until Thursday the 24th. Their rival will be Italy.

That same day the Canadians and Germans will be measured. The two crosses belong to the upper part of the table, so the winners will meet in the semifinals.

The first to debut will be Australia and the Netherlands. Lleyton Hewitt has not been able to count on his singles number two in practice either, Thanasi Kokkinakis. The young Aussie, who has landed this afternoon in the town on the Costa del Sol, has been at the masters meeting, playing the doubles with his compatriot Nick Kyrgios.

full of confidence

The couple formed by Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic, on the road to Spain on Wednesday the 23rd, will be the last to arrive in Malaga. And it is that they will fight this Sunday against Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury for the title of ATP masters, a distinction that does not appear in their extensive record. They will have just one day to adapt to the new court and the new balls.
