ATP Finals 2022: Ruud knocks Rublev down in the Masters semifinal and threatens Nadal’s second place at the end of the season

Casper Ruudat 23 years old, has ratified his good season with his qualification for the final of the Masters Cup in Turin.

The Norwegian ended this Saturday with the resistance of Andrey Rublev by 6-2 and 6-4, in just 68 minutes. Ruud had a physical advantage that he knew how to exploit in the semifinal.

And it is that Rublev had just qualified for the penultimate round after a tough match on Friday with Stefanos Tsitsipas that lasted three sets.

Ruud is the first Nordic since Stefan Edberg in 1990 to reach the final of the ATP Finals. The challenge tomorrow will be enormous because Novak Djokovic will be on the other side of the net.

Casper’s victory has a double prize because it would allow him to finish the season as world number two, ahead of Rafael Nadal, and immediately behind Carlos Alcaraz..

It should be remembered that Casper leaves for Buenos Aires on Monday with Nadal to play a series of five exhibitions in Latin America.
