ATP Finals 2022: Miguel Díaz and Andrea Gaudenzi negotiate in Turin the acquisition of an ATP tournament by the RFET

MMiguel Díaz has traveled to the ATP Finals in Turin to meet with the president of the ATP, Andrea Gaudenzi, and to continue exploring the possibility of the highest body in Spanish tennis having an ATP tournament on its own.

After the success of the Gijn Open, Díaz has defined the clear strategy of the RFET for the coming years. “We have developed the best professional tennis calendar in the world, now we have to strengthen it with an ATP tournament and another WTA,” said Daz.

The meeting was also attended by two vice presidents of the ATP, Ross Hutchins and Geoffroy Bourbon, as well as the director of the Gijn Open, Tomás Carbonell and the general director of the RFET, Lorenzo Martínez.

The top leaders of the ATP and the RFET have agreed to continue negotiating the possibility that the Spanish leader is pursuing to consolidate ownership of a week on the ATP circuit.
