Ashton United, English 7th Division club, offer a 28-day loan for Erling Haaland

Nothing ventured, nothing gained“, must have said to itself the club of Ashton United, a small team in the English seventh division which made an incredible request to Manchester City and Erling Haaland.

Despite all his talent, Haaland failed to qualify Norway for the World Cup, which runs from November 20 to December 18 in Qatar. While his teammates, including Kevin De Bruyne in particular, will try to win the Grail, the Norwegian machine will therefore be at rest.

Ashton United, an English seventh division club located a stone’s throw from Manchester, tried to take advantage of the situation by offering Manchester City a 28-day loan for Haaland. “It would make sense for both teams. City are not playing and we want to help them by keeping Erling fit, that makes more sense than playing golf for six weeks“, commented Michael Cleggmanager of Ashton United, who plays 6 league matches between November 20 and December 18

Eleventh in the “Non League Premier” with only 23 goals scored in 19 matches, Ashton United would indeed need the Norwegian’s services to find the net.

For the moment, the English champions have not yet responded to this rather crazy proposal and let’s be honest, there is little chance of seeing Haaland land in the English seventh division…
