Another monstrous night for Luka Doncic without reward: Dallas Mavericks’ fourth straight loss, this time against the Milwaukee Bucks

The Eastern Conference tour is doing pretty badly for the Dallas Mavericks. It was to be expected that their results were not very positive, especially due to the little space between games, but the performance shown by the Texans has been light years away from the usual standard. All this while Luka Doncic he maintained a great level of play, which has allowed the Mavs to fight to win at least. The problem, as one could already guess, is that the Slovenian’s performance has not been enough since he has begun to deflate and lose strength compared to the incredible start he had.

Dallas’ visit to Milwaukee was resolved in the same way as in Boston and Toronto: with defeat. The Bucks did not give the Mavs an option, winning by 124 to 115 in a match in which it was controlled by the locals at all times. Only small flashes led by Doncic notably reduced the lead on the scoreboard, but those from Wisconsin never lost their calm or direction.

The ex of Real Madrid was splendid in the case of the second night of a back-to-back, producing 27 points on 10 of 20 field goals, 5 rebounds and 12 assists in 35 minutes of play. Luka knew how to hurt Milwaukee’s defense, attacking the sagging inside, punishing switch-ups and being patient, but once again, it wasn’t enough.

The rest of the Texan team offered a better face than against the Raptors, with a 44.2% accuracy in field goals and 41.1% in triples. However, it was the defense where the team’s shortcomings were most evident, conceding 52 points to Milwaukee in the paint for 38 of them.

Fourth consecutive game in which those led by Jason Kidd are surpassed, third in this tour that has already ended, but that does not mean the end of his particular suffering. And it is that the Mavericks now fly to Dallas to face Golden State Warriors this Tuesday, November 29 and pack your bags again.

The Doncic effect that marked the first weeks of competition and made them end up with a balance of 6-3 now it has become a 9-10 mark. The Texans need to find a way to balance the minutes without the Slovenian as well as for the defensive level to improve as soon as possible. The next few weeks are going to be key to verifying the true potential of the Dallas Mavericks this season.
