Angri Feminine, black period: defeat against Agropoli

Angri Female loses 67-49 against New Basket Agropoli Paestum at PalaZauli in Battipaglia. The commitment for coach Francesco Iannone’s girls is not enough, forced to stop again against an opponent fighting for the top positions.

Angri got off to a better start, placing 0-4 with Manna and Sapienza. But Federica Chiovato and Seka press their foot on the accelerator and put the clubs ahead with a break of 10-0 (10-4). It is Sicignano who breaks the inertia with the triple of 10-7. Federica Chiovato, for the landlords, is irrepressible and sends the guests back for 14-7. Catalani is found ready in the paint and from distance, scoring with 16-13. In the end, for the New Basket Agropoli Paestum, De Feo takes the chair, putting the bomb on the siren of 21-14 with which the first fraction ends.

In the second period the forcing continues for the locals, who escape on 27-14 with Seka and Castelli. So coach Iannone is forced to time out. Angri unlocks his score after almost 6′ with a free kick from Sicignano (27-15). The grey-reds drop below the double-digit disadvantage with Sapienza signing on 27-19. Then Catarozzo and Lombardo are the protagonists of the new extension for the 31-20 with which we go to the break.

When hostilities resume, Sapienza and Manna reduce to -4 (31-27). The Cilento women overcome the difficulties with De Feo and Seka for the new +10 (41-31). The grey-reds have too many rebounding problems and give too many second chances to the locals who fly to 53-35 at the last break. In the fourth period, New Basket Agropoli Paestum rejects Angri’s timid attempts to return.
