An English seventh division club makes an incredible request for Haaland!

Unfortunately deprived of the World Cup with Norway, Erling Haaland will have a few weeks to rest. A small British club could, however, offer a completely different challenge to the Norwegian.

Author of a totally smashing start to the season with Manchester City, Erling Haaland will unfortunately not play the World Cup in Qatar. And for good reason, his native country, Norway, failed to qualify for the competition. After terrorizing Premier League defenses in recent weeks (18 goals and 3 assists in 12 league starts), the Leeds native finds himself forced to put away his crampons for a while.

An original solution to stay in the legs could however be offered to the 22-year-old player. The Ashton United club would indeed like to be loaned Erling Haaland in the coming weeks. Playing in the seventh division, this team based in the city of Ashton-under-Lyne has in any case made this request to the Sky Blues according to an official press release.

Ashton United seek Erling Haaland loan during World Cup

For the moment, the reigning English champion has not yet responded to this surprising request. This small town of 43,000 inhabitants still has the advantage of being located not far from Manchester. To put all his chances on his side, the local coach has also advanced an argument a priori unstoppable. “It would make sense for both teams. City don’t play and we want to help them by keeping Erling fit, that makes more sense than playing golf for six weeks.” thus explained the so-called Michael Clegg.

If this unusual initiative is obviously a joke, it will still have attracted attention and created the buzz. Liked more than 40,000 times, Ashton United’s tweet has amused many Internet users.
