A wine Olympic champion from Apetlon: Weingut Steindorfer was the trophy winner

The Steindorfer winery from Apetlon secured first place at the “Olympic Games of Wine” – the AWC.

APETLON. The winery in the Burgenland national park community of Apetlon won the AWC, the largest and most renowned wine tasting in the world, in the St. Laurent category. At a gala night of wine in the ambience of the Vienna City Hall, Roland Steindorfer was honored in front of more than 3000 guests, including Father Ernst, of course. This year, 11,342 wines from 43 countries faced the jury. In 2018 and 2020 the company was voted Austrian Winery of the Year.

“In our industry, the AWC is something like the Olympic Games in sport. That was really something very special,” says Steindorfer.
