With the non-qualification in the Champions League, many changes are expected at Atletico Madrid
A fourth and last group place in the Champions League, this had not happened to Diego Simeone’s men for 10 years.
The club already has a deficit of 60 million, and therefore departures will take place in January but also in the summer. The club hopes to do a major cleaning.
Six names came out in the Spanish press and were considered unsaleable: Immediately, José–Maria Gimenez, Antoine Griezmann, Stefan Savic, Jan Oblak et Marcos Llorente.
Diego Simeone is not yet on the start, but the name of Luis Enrique is already in the small papers in case the situation gets worse during the second half of the season. Yannick Carrasco would therefore be salable just like Axel Witsel. The latter, however, has a contract ending in 2023 with an optional year.
