1. FC Köln: Season off for Steffen Baumgart’s striker Florian Dietz! | Sports

What bad luck with injuries!

Cologne’s Florian Dietz (24) tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee in the 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. The striker will probably be out for the rest of the season!

Dietz underwent an MRI scan yesterday, which revealed the injury. He will be checked tomorrow by FC team doctor Dr. Peter Schäferhoff operates in the MediaPark Clinic.

Not the first setback in Florian Dietz’s career: in November 2020 he tore his cruciate ligament (left).

Coach Steffen Baumgart (50) says: “First and foremost, I’m very sorry for Flo. But he’s a real fighter. After his first knee injury, but also after his serious shoulder injury, he worked his way back up with iron discipline. He’s going to do that this time too, and we’ll do everything we can to support him along the way. It’s really bitter that we lose the next player with him to opponents.”

Huge discussion about this scene Would you have called a hand penalty HERE?
