Youth League: Dortmund denounces racist incidents from opponents against Abdoulaye Kamara, ex of PSG

Abdoulaye Kamara was considered a great hope by the PSG training center. In the summer of 2021, the Guinean defensive midfielder finally opted for Germany and Dortmund. His name is back in the news today for sad reasons.

The 17-year-old would have been the victim of racist insults in the middle of a Youth League match on Wednesday, according to the Ruhr club. BVB filed a complaint with UEFA after this meeting organized on the lawn of Sevilla FC, reported a German journalist on Twitter.

In this kind of case, the public is almost systematically targeted. Here, the comments were made by the Spanish opponents during the first period, confirms the SID news agency. “The boys were shocked and upset (…) The next time something like this happens, we will leave,” said training center director Lars Ricken, “not the third time, but the first time”.

These actions provoked a reflection from the Germans at half-time who hesitated to return to the lawn. The match finally ended, by mutual agreement, with the score of one everywhere. Difficult to know if the complaint will lead to sanctions from the European authorities. The referee “noticed and heard nothing”, according to Lars Ricken.
