In the quarter-finals in Tallinn, Belinda Bencic (ATP 14) won 6-4 6-1 against Donna Vekic (85) in just over an hour and a half of play. She will face Barbora in the semi-finals Krejcikova (27) who beat Beatriz Haddad Maia (15) 6-3 6-4.
Disappointing at the US Open where she had failed in the 3rd round, the Saint-Galloise finds the last four for the first time since mid-June in Berlin and this final lost on abandonment against Ons Jabeur. She won for the fourth time in five duels against Donna Vekic.
The 2021 Olympic singles champion dominated the proceedings against the Croatian, even though she lost her serve three times in the first set. But, she handled a second set much better in which she quickly led 3-0, erasing all three break points she faced.
Belinda Bencic finds the last four after two failures at the quarter-final stage, in Lausanne in July and in Toronto in August. She will play in Tallinn her fourth semi-final of the year on the WTA circuit.
