Kentaro Iida, who competed in the men’s 100-kilogram class, was eliminated in the second round. He lost to Boyan Doshen (Serbia) by ippon with an inner thigh watermark. Following last year’s defeat in the third round, he did not perform well.

So far, Japan has won five gold medals, three for women and two for men.
