Spain star threatens World Cup!
The World Cup is getting closer…
On November 27th, our national team meets Spain in their second group match. The game at the Khalifa International Stadium will be played after the opener against Japan on November 23. the next big endurance test on the way to the world title.
Now it comes out: Germany’s group opponents are threatened with a bitter failure. Because the Spanish national player Marcos Llorente (27) has to tremble for his assignment at the Winter World Cup.
The Atlético Madrid midfielder was injured in Tuesday’s Champions League defeat by Belgium club Bruges (0-2). Now the diagnosis is in: Llorente has suffered a hamstring injury and will miss his club and Spain national team for around five weeks.
Llorente was trained at Real Madrid and then played professionally for the royal team. In 2019 he did what is actually forbidden: after eleven years, Llorente switched to city rivals Atlético Madrid. So to the club for which his father and grandfather played. With success: Llorente, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid in 2018, won the Spanish championship with Atlético in 2021.
Llorente made his debut in the national team on November 11, 2020 in a 1-1 draw against Holland in Amsterdam. This was followed by 16 more games in which he knew how to convince. Now it’s getting tight for more games at the World Cup in Qatar…
