Bidasoa Irun gave a recital in all aspects of the game, dismounted Anaitasuna and recovered positions in the league table

Those who go to Artaleku know that they are going to have a good time, they suspect that they can leave happy and, in today’s case, they end up very happy with the performance of their team and the 36-24 victory against Helvetia Anaitasuna, who were only one point. That circumstance, the trajectory of the Navarrese (their worst defeat was by three goals) and the precedents presaged an even match, but Bidasoa Irun took it upon themselves to break it, to shatter it. Not even the most optimistic would have thought of a win by twelve goals, also giving rest to some players, minutes to the youngsters and Víctor Rodríguez, who had not played since the second day.

Asier Nieto corroborated his good moment with two goals and two assists for Julen Aginagalde at 7-4, a moment that coincided with the yellow takeoff. They went from 5-4 to 9-4 in just three minutes and Julen Mujika, both times from a pass from Mihajlo Mitic, scored the two goals that certified the 4-0 run.

The irundarra team was very in tune in attack, with nine goals in eleven minutes, but Anaitasuna, who after the 14th minute timeout arranged a mixed defense from Ganuza against Jon Azkue, was in charge of stopping the scoring flow of the yellows. And it is that the progression led to a scandal marker.

After the initial hurricane calm came, although the Gipuzkoans had already opened a gap on the scoreboard, 12-6 in the 21st minute. The visiting team tried not to detach themselves and was five goals away, but there were already seven at half-time, 17-10 .

No hint of a comeback

The breaks always lead to the situation turning around in the second half and, although the income was beautiful, it was convenient not to trust the Navarrese. However, yesterday there was no flip, reaction or comeback. The difference of seven was maintained until 19-12 and then came the second part of the yellow hurricane, more powerful if possible, because the one in front was also shaking and could not find an answer.

It seemed like International Pivot Day, because of the zeal with which the players on the front line were first looking for Julen Aginagalde (five goals, three from Asier Nieto), then Matheus da Silva (four, two thanks to Víctor Rodríguez) and even youth squad player Julen Urruzola, who was able to play the last ten minutes and gave value to the ball that Julen Mujika served him.

The difference was growing and it was already ten few after the quarter hour, 29-19. In the final minutes it increased to those unexpected twelve of the final 36-24. Result similar to Tuesday’s 35-26 against the Portuguese Aguas Santas and in both cases with one point in common: Bidasoa Irun in a state of grace. Let’s see if it helps to surprise Fuchse in Berlin on Tuesday…
