Versus / Deputies grant well-deserved distinction to Paraguayan medalists at the Odesur Games

In the Chamber of Deputies, a very special moment was experienced this Wednesday with the well-deserved distinction received by the Paraguayan athletes who won medals at the ASU 2022 South American Games, which took place in our country from the 1st to the 15th of this month.

The compatriot athletes who managed to stand out during the competition received the Arsenio Erico Award and the National Order of Community Merit for winning a medal at the ODESUR 2022 South American Games and for representing our country with stature.

“The young people that we intend to distinguish today not only meet these requirements of discipline and dedication, but, in addition to being high-level athletes, they have represented the country with pride and patriotism during the last ODESUR South American Games, held a few days ago,” he had indicated the deputy, Rocío Abed, president of the Commission of Social Equity and Gender, when requesting the approval of the project.

It should be remembered that Paraguay won a total of 48 medals in the historic edition of the competition; 8 Gold, 26 Silver and 14 Bronze.

Cycling, Bodybuilding, Figure Skating, Tennis, Table Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Swimming, Athletics, Basketball, Handball, Bowls, Boxing, Field Soccer, FIFA Futsal, Beach Soccer, Golf, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby, Squash and Canoeing are the disciplines in which Paraguay won medals.

He also won medals in Chess and Padel, but these sports only participated experimentally, by invitation and do not count in the medal table.
