Towns and Gobert aim to play together for the first time this Friday

The Timberwolves duo will face the KD Nets in the final preseason matchup

The final game of the preseason is shaping up to be the first in which the Minnesota Timberwolves, a new power duo, will see action at the same time. Karl-Anthony Towns y Rudy Gobert.

In order to manage his workload after performing at the EuroBasket with the French team, Gobert will sit this Wednesday in the game in which the TWolves visit LeBron James’s Los Angeles Lakers. Towns will also not play, it was confirmed prior to the game.

Everything indicates that it would be on Friday, during the final game of the preseason, that the French center and Karl Towns see action on the court together for the first time since he was acquired by the Minnesota team in the offseason.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will face the Brooklyn Nets at the Target Center on October 14, prior to opening day on the 19th of this month against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Both Towns and Gobert have played only one game in the preseason, with the Dominican missing playing time due to health problems that affected him before the start of team training.

Manager Chris Finch said Tuesday that Towns and Gobert are on track to play together this offseason, John Krawczynski reported. KAT made his season debut on October 9, playing 26 minutes and scoring 19 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assists against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Gobert faced the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, October 6, watching 16 minutes of action getting 12 rebounds and 5 points.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the few teams to remain unbeaten (3-0) in the preseason, along with the 76ers, Knicks, Hawks, Pelicans and Kings going into Wednesday’s game.
