Cuenca becomes the capital of women’s sports for a weekend thanks to the Women’s Universe Tour. The main course has been this Saturday afternoon, in which a multitude of federations, gyms and clubs have gathered in the San Julián park to make sport visible.
The event began at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by Strong Nation (Integral Body Fitness), which had a good number of people dancing. Meanwhile, it was impossible for the visitor to decide on a stand: the local clubs have arranged a huge multitude of them, with activities and games for everyone. From learning to hit a rugby ball to archery, through racquetball, football, athletics, tennis, table tennis, climbing…
At 6:30 p.m. the official inauguration took place, which was attended by the shooter Teresa Díaz and the skater Sara Hurtado, as well as local authorities: Charo Rodríguez, Councilor for Sports, Sonia Isidro, Provincial Delegate for Education , Culture and Sports in Cuenca and Santiago Gómez, deputy for Sports, have been at the big event. The family photo has brought together all the representatives of the federations, who have started in applause with the countdown. Undoubtedly, an unbeatable space for physical exercise and, above all, for women, this afternoon’s event being a real party that has demonstrated the potential and variety of sports in Cuenca.
This gives way to a great afternoon suitable for all audiences that will continue tomorrow, Sunday the 2nd at 10 with the race “Cuenca on the march for equality”.
