Table tennis in the city continues to take steps forward with the creation of a new club, Pontevedra Table Tennis, which is characterized by being 100% female, both in its board of directors and in the players that comprise it.
This new formation, which debuted in the Division of Honor (the second national category). It arises from the number of federated players that exist in the city and has the collaboration of the Monteporreiro Table Tennis, a team against which they coincidentally played their first league match. The first local derby ended in victory for the newly founded team by 2-4.
“It will only be a women’s club. It so happened that the first match in its history was against Monte Porreiro Table Tennis and it was a mixture of feelings and emotions. A game. A very good atmosphere was generated in Prince Felipe”, they detail from the board of directors of Monte Porreiro.
The new team has its first outing on October 15, in which it will visit the Romarigo pavilion (Cangas) to face Cinania Table Tennis.
