The judge asks Rubiales for details about the controversial party in Salobreña

The Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 4 of Majadahonda (Madrid), which is investigating the Rubiales case, yesterday issued a series of orders in which, among other things, it requests the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to contribute party details celebrated by the president and several directors of the same in the Granada town of Salobreña in August 2020.

As confirmed by ABC in legal sources of the investigation, magistrate Delia Rodrigo has asked the RFEF to report on the reason, date, place, attendees and cost of that celebration, which was recently revealed by ‘El Mundo’. Also if it was paid from the Federation’s corporate cards and, if so, in whose name.

At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, the court also orders the Federation to clarify its relationship with a detective agency that he spied on the president of the Association of Spanish Soccer Players (AFE), David Aganzo, allegedly by order of the RFEF and Rubiales itself.

In addition, the magistrate has put under summary secret part of that court case. Specifically, the one that affects the accounts and tax information of the president of the RFEF and the culé player, as well as the Federation itself and the Kosmos company, with which the Barcelona player achieved a commission of 24 million euros for acting as an intermediary between the RFEF and Saudi Arabia to bring the Spanish Super Cup to this country for six editions, according to ‘El Confidencial’.

This has been decided by the judge in a car dated this Thursday, in which it opens two separate pieces with the information provided by the Mercantile Registry of Barcelona, the RFEF and public bodies such as the Tax Agency. This last piece, with bank movements and fiscal data of the two protagonists and their respective entities, is the one that the Majadahonda court declares under partial secrecy of the summary “to make the investigation effective” and the “complete clarification” of the facts denounced in the complaint filed by the Transparency and Democracy Association in Sports (TyD), chaired by Miguel Ángel Galán.

“Public Repercussion”

The judge explains in her order that she makes this decision for the “public impact” of those involved and by the leaks that have occurred through the media. Another measure that draws attention is the rogatory commission at the Andorran bank Morabanc, which sponsors FC Andorra, the soccer team owned by Gerard Piqué.

In addition, the magistrate has already admitted the appearance in the case of LaLiga and AFE, presided over by two enemies of Rubiales such as Javier Tebas and Aganzo, respectively. Also from the union Clean hands, all of them as accusation. And he does the same with both the RFEF and Kosmos, in this case for his defense.

On the other hand, the judge’s resolutions confirm that the investigation has been assumed by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guardthe elite unit of the Benemérita that acts as judicial police in important cases like this one.

Rubiales asks for a fine

In parallel, Rubiales has submitted a letter to the court in which he requests that the promoter of this lawsuit, Miguel Ángel Galán, be fined, whom he accuses of air documents of the cause, such as the order of admission and opening of proceedings that were also echoed by several media outlets, including ABC. The fine requested by the RFEF against the president of TyD would range between 500 and 10,000 euros. The judge has notified the parties of this document, urging the Federation to provide the evidence and Galán to appeal within five days.
