The starting point of the Saturday session was the VIII King Juan Archery Tournament in which the two protagonist families of this medieval fair, the Garci-López de Chaves and the Pachecos, whose real confrontations in the fourteenth century serve as the common thread of this weekend. This tournament took place in the left moat of Rúa del Solwhich caused the transfer of the positions of the Saturday market that are installed in the section of Paseo Fernando Arrabal between Puerta del Sol and the Guardia de San Pelayo (they were relocated to the rise of the Registry and in the annexed section of Avenida Sefarad).
The King Juan Archery Tournament consisted of a series of games in which the archers, including Mirobrigenses and foreigners (in total there were about 20 archers per family) were shooting arrows at different elements.
