The Evita Games ended successfully

They looked like the Olympic Games, but they were the Evita Games. This program, which since 2008 is a Law to promote the sports, cultural, social and health development of more than 1,000,000 young people, older adults and people with disabilities.

Athletics, windsurfing, judo, basketball, cycling, fencing, handball, volleyball, swimming, soccer… In total, 55 disciplines (12 new in this edition), distributed in more than 100 sports venues in clubs, beaches and sports centers throughout Mar del Plata. In soccer, the pioneering discipline of the Evita Games, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires were left yesterday with the U14 and U16 finals played at the Minella stadium after beating Mendoza and La Rioja 2-1 and 5-1, respectively.

Boys and girls from all provinces meeting, having fun, making friends, many of which may last a lifetime. And several and several even getting to know the sea… It is an experience that they will never forget in their lives. Over the years, Diego Maradona, César Luis Menotti, Carlos Bilardo, Braian Toledo, Nadia Báez and Leandro Bolmaro have participated in the event, among many and many later Argentine sports figures. What’s more: many of the marks achieved during the Evita Games serve to facilitate the recruitment of talent and incorporate them into high competition.

Born in 1948, the Games seek to promote the physical development and medical check-ups of thousands of boys and girls, incorporating more disciplines and categories. This year, for example, in addition to these national finals of Youth Games and Games for People with Disabilities, the Beach Games (March, in Mar de Ajó), the Winter Games (September, in San Martín de los Andes ), and in November (from the 7th to the 11th, in San Luis) the Games for the Elderly will be held.
