In any case, in the worst case scenario, Barça secures 3.5 million per year for five seasons with this agreement.

Thus, Joan Laporta’s board takes another step to achieve one of the economic objectives that it explained in the last assembly, which is to exceed 200 million euros per year in sponsorships, a figure that the entity has never achieved during the his story Bimbo becomes Barça’s tenth global sponsor. The other nine are Allianz, Estrella Damm, the Russian 1xBET, Konami, Cupra, Gatorade, Stanley Black & Decker, Chiliz and Vegan Nation, also announced this year. According to ARA, the sponsorship activations with Bimbo are to be defined, but they will be very focused on the women’s team. They could also include initiatives that allow the Barça brand to appear in the packaging of Bimbo products. In addition, in the press release to announce the agreement the club says that the alliance involves collaboration with La Masia.

This sponsorship agreement, added to others obtained recently – such as those of Spotify, Heüra and GLS – will allow the Barça women’s team to reach eight million euros in annual income in sponsorships (this season’s budget is 12 million), a figure that has given him room in this latest transfer market to bring in stars such as midfielder Keira Walsh, defender Lucy Bronze and striker Geyse Ferreira with the aim of fighting again to lift the Champions League after of the defeat against Olympique de Lyon in last year’s final. This season, the decisive match will be held on the weekend of June 4 in Eindhoven, where the injured Alexia Putellas, who on Monday won her second consecutive Ballon d’Or, dreams of playing.

Bimbo has its main headquarters in Mexico, but throughout its history it has had many connections with Catalonia. In addition, the founder of the company in 1945 was Llorenç Servitje, son of Catalans from Santa Margarida de Montbui. Although in the recent past Bimbo has had sponsorships in Mexican football with Chivas and Club América, that of Barça will be the first global sponsorship that the company will do in its entire history.
