On a rainy afternoon in Baltimore on Sunday, they pulled off the team’s biggest comeback in more than a decade.

“Those are the games you like to win,” Allen said. It was a constant battle between the two teams. It’s always nice to win on the last game of the match. »

The Bills forced a turnover on fourth down, Tyler Bass had a 21-yard field goal on the last play of the game and the Buffalo squad erased a 17-point deficit to defeat the Ravens 23-20.

The Bills trailed 20-3 late in the second quarter. It was their biggest comeback since coming back from a 21-point deficit to beat the New England Patriots in 2011.

With the two teams tied 20-20 in the fourth quarter, the Ravens (2-2) had a second down at the goal gate. After two failed races, the Baltimore squad decided to go for it on the fourth try.

Lamar Jackson ran the ball a bit and threw a pass into the end zone, but Jordan Poyer intercepted it with 4:09 remaining. It was the worst outcome for the Ravens, as the Bills (3-1) weren’t stuck deep in their territory.

“Knowing the result, you definitely prefer to take the points,” said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. When you look at it all analytically, you understand why we gave it a shot. »

Beginning his streak at his team’s 20 line, Allen calmly guided the Bills to a field goal attempt from short range. At one point, the Ravens wanted to let the Bills score a touchdown, but Odafe Oweh tackled Devin Singletary at the three line.

It was the second straight home game in which the Ravens blew a solid lead. The Miami Dolphins rallied from a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit to win 42-38 two weeks ago.

Allen had 213 aerial yards. He threw a touchdown pass and an interception. Jackson got just 144 yards through the air, throwing one touchdown pass and two interceptions.

JK Dobbins scored two early touchdowns for the Ravens, but they allowed a touchdown in the closing seconds of the first half. Allen joined Isaiah McKenzie from four yards to allow the Bills to close the gap 20-10.

“Rather than going into the locker room at 20-6 or 20-3, it’s 20-10. We were one defensive stop away from being back in the game,” Allen explained.

The Buffalo squad controlled play in the third quarter and Allen tied the game with an 11-yard run for a touchdown. The Ravens didn’t create much on offense in the second half until Jackson led them to the goal gate.

The Vikings defeat the Saints

Justin Jefferson bounced back after two relatively quiet games and Greg Joseph made amends after missing a touchdown convert on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings star receiver got the better of Marshon Lattimore to make a 39-yard catch that set up Joseph’s 47-yard field goal with 24 seconds left.

The Vikings held on late to win 28-25 over the New Orleans Saints at Tottenham’s Hotspur Stadium in London.

Several Vikings players (3-1) thought the game would go to overtime when kicker Wil Lutz moved in to attempt a 61-yard field goal. And why not ? Lutz had a 60-yard field goal on the Saints’ previous offensive possession (1-3).

The ball had enough distance, but it hit the left post and the crossbar before bouncing outside the goal.

“When the ball left his foot, I thought it was going to go through the posts,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said. I felt the ball had a very good chance of going through. A few hops later, we walk off the field as the winning team. »

Joseph’s game-winning punt came after he missed a convert by a point in the fourth quarter, after Jefferson made a three-yard run for a major with 4:15 to go.

The Vikings then held a 25-22 lead.

The Saints then orchestrated an eight-play push that ended with a 60-yard field goal from Lutz with 1:51 to go to tie the game 25-25. The New Orleans squad suffered a third straight loss.

“I thought both attempts were going to be good,” Lutz said. I hit both in the right place. The second ball just moved a little more to the left. I was in shock that it didn’t bounce inside. »

Jefferson had 10 catches for 147 yards. He had been limited to nine receptions for 62 yards in his last two games.

“Lattimore followed me the whole game. It was a one-on-one battle for most of the game, Jefferson said. I was telling the coach to throw the ball in the air and give me a chance to make a big play.”

Joseph was perfect on five field goal attempts as the Vikings squandered multiple touchdown opportunities. They had to pull out all the stops to defeat the Saints even though the Saints were without a few key starters, including quarterback Jameis Winston and running back Alvin Kamara.

Kirk Cousins completed 25 of 38 passes for 273 yards. He threw a touchdown pass and an interception. Under first-year head coach Kevin O’Connell, the Vikings are off to their best start since 2016 (4-0).

With the Saints trailing 16-7, backup quarterback Andy Dalton led two profitable offensive series to give his team a 22-19 lead.

Dalton had 20 of 28 attempts from the air caught for 236 yards. He threw a touchdown pass.
