Strasbourg wins against Szombathely in the Champions League

Strasbourg successfully entered the Champions League against Hungarian club Falco Vulcano Szombathely by winning (81-78) for their first home game of the season on Wednesday.

In front of their audience, the Alsatians directly set the tone in this first quarter by taking a slight lead (19-15) against their opponent of the day. But very quickly, the Hungarians took advantage of the faults of the French and a bad period, at the end of the first half, to regain the lead and reverse the score before the break (38-40).

On returning from the locker room, Strasbourg and Szombathely kept a fairly tight gap, the Alsatians however managing to turn things around at the end of the third quarter (56-53). Until the end of the meeting, the match was tense, but thanks to a striking DeAndre Lansdowne in the fourth quarter time (20 points in total), the SIG signed their first victory of the season in the Champions League. Enough to prepare for the next European day, with the reception of the Turks of Tofas Bursa next Wednesday.
