St. Pauli – HSV: madness in the pyro derby! Crazy Scenes in Hamburg | Sports

What a crazy derby!

Riots before kick-off, endless Pyros in the stands, two attacking teams, a red card, formation of packs – everything is possible in this wild city duel.

In the end, FC St. Pauli celebrates a 3-0 win over HSV after seven games without a win, shoots their way out of the crisis – and ultimately humiliates their big rivals.

It’s wild on the lawn. Both teams with open visors. HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes first saves against Etienne Amenyido (16′), then has to risk life and limb against Jackson Irvine (21′). HSV also have their chance, but Robert Glatzel heads past Moritz Heyer, who is in a better position (19′).

Really stupid: HSV captain Sebastian Schonlau checks the breaking Amenyido in a long ball – and sees red from referee Deniz Aytekin. St. Pauli outnumbered, just before the break Igor Matanovic hit the post (44th).

The wild ride continues unabated in the second half. St. Pauli with chances every minute – and then the HSV box rings. After a Hartel corner, Eric Smith climbs the highest, heads in from six yards to make it 1-0 (61′). Shortly thereafter, pack formation at the center line. The two keeper Nikola Vasilj and Heuer Fernandes rush to get yellow (70th). Hectic in the game – and St. Pauli strikes again: Irvine puts it back in the penalty area, Matanovic misses – but Marcel Hartel welds in behind him to make it 2-0 (74th).

In the end it will be a humiliation for HSV. After a cross from Lars Ritzka, substitute David Otto heads in to make it 3-0 (89′). St. Pauli has never won a derby in the 1st or 2nd Bundesliga.

Huge jubilation at the end for the brown-whites, deep sadness for HSV, who conceded their first away defeat – and could also lose the championship lead on Saturday.
