It is the latest addition to the Sentinelle de Brienon, the historic archery club. The sports shooting section now offers its activities under the market hall.
It is in fact a renaissance for this discipline. In its heyday, the club shot in the high national spheres with the title of champion of France of Élisabeth Chaussy, gleaned in the 1990s.
Fernand Custodio remembers it very well. The current president and founder of the section hopes to relive similar moments with his members. “We seized the opportunity of future functional premises shared with archery to relaunch this practice, with rifle and pellet gun shooting at 10 meters”, he underlines.
Progressive investment in sports weapons
President of the departmental sports shooting committee, which has 1,500 licensees and vice-president of the league (66 clubs), he explains that he wants to control the development of the activity. An ambition that will go through a progressive investment in sports weapons, which are only made available during the sessions. To date, five members make up the section but the activity has only three practice sessions behind it.
