Sport, health and solidarity unite Bàsquet Coruña and Vegalsa-Eroski

Both entities have renewed for another year the collaboration agreement that includes the organization of health and sustainability workshops, as well as the promotion of solidarity initiatives from the practice of sports. Vegalsa-Eroski, as a sponsor of the Club, supports activities for this purpose with 12,000 euros.

One more year the Galician food distribution company Vegalsa-Eroski and Básquet Coruña come together to promote the promotion of sport and they do so by linking their practice to the values ​​of health and solidarity.

To this end, both entities plan to organize several activities throughout the season, including three workshops on healthy habits, with the forecast of carrying them out at Christmas, Easter and next summer. Linked to this, they will also organize visits with the Club’s professional players to both the boys and girls of the Teresa Herrera Maternal and Child Hospital in A Coruña, as well as users of Down Coruña.

Activities, all of them, that are part of the collaboration agreement that both entities have renewed today at the hands of the director of Sustainability and Communication, Gabriela González, and the manager of the Club, Yago Álvarez.

This more charitable aspect will be completed with the support that Vegalsa-Eroski will provide to the four charitable causes that Básquet Coruña chooses to support during the 22/23 season. The company thus becomes a sponsor of the Club, supporting with 12,000 euros the development of the aforementioned activities, aimed at promoting sport and solidarity during the duration of this agreement.

That is why we want to continue contributing and adding through sport, renewing the collaboration with Básquet Coruña, one of the best ambassadors of the City as a reference club and with whom we share many values. I thank its players and its board of directors for their involvement and commitment in conveying to the players, especially those from the base teams, the importance of social responsibility and its impact on our closest environment” explains Gabriela González.

From the Club Básquet Coruña and as indicated by its manager Yago Álvarez “It makes us especially happy to be able to continue to count on the support of a firm like Vegalsa-Eroski, where the objectives set within its CSR policy fully coincide with the values that from the club we try to instill in our base categories. This is why it is very easy for us to jointly develop a social program with which both companies feel fully satisfied.
