At the beginning of the week Carlos Alcaraz (1) and Rafael Nadal (2) made history in the tennis world when after 22 years two players from the same country, Spain, reached the Top two of the world ranking.
Just one day later, away from the money and the attention of the press, the Villa Lugano neighborhood had its day of glory in the Clausura de Primera D tournament, since Yupanqui (El Trapero) became champion with 20 points and Club Atlético Lugano (el Naranja) was in second place, only on goal difference.
This did not attract the attention of most of the world’s portals, which on Monday recalled that the last time that two tennis players from the same country occupied the first two positions in the world ranking was on August 7, 2000, when the American Andre Agassi was as the top of the ranking followed by his compatriot Pete Sampras.
Nor was the big press moved by the hard-fought 2-2 equality that Yupanqui achieved in Ensenada against Defensores Cambaceres (who with a win was also crowned champion), in a true final where he was twice at a disadvantage, but with goals from Antonio Paulides and Kevin Kordyk took the point that gave him the title of the Clausura tournament.

This is the first championship for Trapero, a club that has always played in D since 1976, when it was fourth category until 1985 and fifth category since the 1986/87 season. And that he was only close to promotion in 2014 when he lost a final against Juventud Unida.
And less was followed by the news of Yupanqui’s victory in the second to last match at home against Lugano by 3-1, in a neighborhood superclassic that started down on the scoreboard, due to a goal from Santiago Kojro for the visitor, but that turned it around with two goals from Daniel Pastrana and another from Nicolás De Benedetti. The victory prize was double: he displaced his rival from the top in the absence of a date and was on the verge of the title with only one tie against Cambaceres.

On the other hand, that defeat against Trapero left Naranja badly injured, which no longer depended on itself to be champion of the Clausura. Now he also needed the match in Ensenada to end in a draw, but he had to win his commitment by a landslide against Central Ballester to claim champion.
But there was no miracle, Lugano won 3-2 in injury time and left the title to Yupanqui, who now has to settle the only promotion in a final against Centro Español, the winner of the Apertura tournament.
#PrimeraD IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE BUT EVERYTHING WAS LEFT:

Although these circumstances do not undermine the pride of the populous neighborhood of Villa Lugano, which saw its two traditional clubs at the top of the First D with the same 20 points (Trapero won the championship by goal difference) emulating the Spanish stars who at the beginning of the week conquered the top of world tennis.
For once the match between the rich and the poor ended in a draw.
