The river park savors a new life, is filled with people and sportin a scenario surrounded by nature. The urban regeneration project that sees the participation of Municipality of Lucca e you Brand for the citywhich involves the third sector and many sports realities of the areawas officially inaugurated today (1 October).
This is the third park to be redeveloped following the Agos model, leading consumer credit companybased on four dimensions: green, sport, smart e art.
The area adjacent to the Petroni terrace was therefore the subject not only of recovery, but also of planting of new trees, with accessible and sustainable furnishings. For them, the redevelopment concerned the numerous structures present and the skate park, brought back to life thanks to the restoration of the flooring. Finally, for the art part, during the autumn the artist Gianni Lucchesi will give new life to the old Enel tower that already stands at the entrance to the park.
At the ribbon cutting that took place this morning (October 1) in the skate park, the following took part: the councilor for sport of the municipality of Lucca, Fabio Barsantithe councilor for youth policies, Cristina Consanithe head of the territorial school office, Donatella Buonriposithe co-director general of Agos, Flavio Sanvischiani and the Agos Affairs director & corporate sustainability, Laura Galimberti. But there were also among the guests Lucius Noble, fiduciary for Lucca city of the Provincial Coni e Francesco Moneta, consigliere Brand For The City.
“We are a consumer credit company and families are our first customers – explains Laura Galimberti -. It was natural to propose a project that could give regenerated spaces to families. Spaces like this, which are a bit of a place of the heart, which for various reasons had been abandoned. We made this intervention taking into consideration the needs of families, sport, art, in the near future we would have the redevelopment of the turret as well – space also for a bit of technology -. And in fact it is precisely the councilors of the municipality of Lucca who intervene, in particular Fabio Barsanticouncilor for sport: “The revaluation of this skate park can be the spark of the redevelopment of the River Park in general – he declares -, with the possibility of bringing the people of Lucca back here and we would like to do so through an idea that the current administration is carrying out. A sort of continuity with the sports area of the aqueduct, up to the Tagliate area, where we also have projects. This area, the most recreational, is connected to the park and the river, so it is possible carry out both water sports and outdoor sports, as well as events. We have very strong ambitions for return the river to the people of Lucca, but also to sport”.
“In recent years it is beyond doubt that we have lost something in terms of youth policies and today, we are here to find what we have lost – says the councilor for the environment and youth policies of the Municipality of Lucca, Cristina Consani -. We are here to reiterate it forcefully and we do it for young people and families. We owe something to them, a sort of prize after all the years they have lived. I am sure this park has all the potential to become a real one point of reference for young people and children. An area in which various aspects of everyday life can be well valued, I am thinking of green, environmental protection, sport and aggregation”.
However, the real stars of the day are sports, as many as 20 associations present at the inauguration, many children and families who accompanied them. Under the Saturday morning sun, they were able to try out numerous sports, basketball, skateboarding, archery, combat sports, rafting and much more.
From 10 this morning and until 18, in fact, the park Agos Green & Smart in Lucca officially opened the regenerated spaces with a day of free events to which all citizens of Lucca are invited to participate. The program, aimed mainly at families, children and teenagers, began in the morning with green lab curated by WWF and the artistic one of the Kreativa art school, which were also repeated in the afternoon. Throughout the day there were free trials and sports performances of roller, skate, mountain bike, basketball, running, rhythmic gymnastics, archery, saber, martial arts and rafting. Many local sports associations that joined the inauguration to give life to a day of invitation to sport that will allow you to fully appreciate the intervention carried out by Agos. Also present were the Green Cross, the Civil Protection and Anpana.
