The Palermo athlete Davide Migliore climbs to the top of the world triumphing on the tatami in the -60 kg category at the “III IBA21 Basketball World Championship and Judo Judown”.
Davide Migliore is 24 years old and is part of the Asd Special Boys. A pride of which Sicily can be proud. A company built in Madeira in Portugal and organized by the international organization SU-DS (Sport Union for Down Syndrom)
It is a return in style with a very rich loot of medals that of the national basketball and judo delegations Fisdir, veterans of the Portuguese adventure. The Italian national basketball team won the title of absolute world champion for the third consecutive time, while the Italian judo national team came second.
Representing Fisdir Sicilia, the very best, the spearhead of Sicilian judo in the world, trained by the masters Giosuè Giglio and Rosolino Giglio and Francesco Paolo Bondì and accompanied on the island of Madeira by Giosuè Giglio himself and the doctor Vito Giuseppe Adamo.
“Davide was the protagonist of the most exciting matches of the whole championship – says the regional and national technical representative Giglio – with really important competitive level performances also recognized by the athletes and technicians of the challenging countries”.
Best, athlete with many years of experience, he faced two races where he was able to distinguish himself through specific technical actions and movements and both matches were won, respectively, for ippon (maximum score) with a single technical gesture (the tani otoshi or “fall in the valley ”) The first and with two waza ari (half a point each which together give ippon) the second.
Davide in the first match managed to throw the opponent pinning him completely on the tatami. In the second, however, he had to work a little more as he found himself facing a very fierce and more experienced opponent against whom he fought for almost 3 minutes, triumphing with a two waza ari and one or soto gari (or “Large external swath”).
