Under a permanent contract with a job guarantee clause, Eduardo Macia was dismissed in July 2020 for serious misconduct, the club accusing him in particular of having negotiated with unlicensed agents in the transfer of Naoufel Khacef and insubordination. The Conseil des Prud’hommes did not judge that these were serious faults, essential to break this type of contract.
The players’ agent Mehdi Aït-Ahmed, believing that he had been excluded from the transaction in favor of several intermediaries, had filed a complaint in June 2020 for “illegal exercise of the profession of sports agent” and “organized gang scam” in the framework of the transfer of Naoufel Khacef. The Parquet of Bordeaux had classified it without follow-up the following October.
Without a job since, Eduardo Macia started as director of football at Italian club La Spezia on September 19.
The ongoing Petkovic case
The height of the provisions for risks (14 million in total) budgeted by the Girondins for the various disputes and the social plan to come (PSE) had been the subject of discussions with the DNCG in July. According to the club, the 600,000 euros had been integrated into the 2022-2023 budget.
