The Santiago-Bernabéu stadium will keep its name as long as Florentino Perez is president of Real Madrid.
Florentino Perez made an important statement during Sunday’s general meeting. The merengue president thus ensures that there will be no naming operation for the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. He said: “We are lucky to have asked for the stadium loan at fixed interest. We were right, and we couldn’t leave those replacing us in trouble.”
Bernabeu keeps its name
“We are never going to change the name of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. If you want to name something after me, I will tell you where to go. The Bernabéu has already become a brand. It wouldn’t make me happy either. But don’t insist on (changing the name of) the Bernabéu because they say I’m behind it.”
