Ramos does not forget the Lisbon final: “I’m going back to where we were happy”

There are moments that are not forgotten no matter how many years go by or one changes teams. This is what will always happen to Sergio Ramos with the Champions League final of the 2013/14 season, the Décima in Lisbon. Yesterday the man from Camas was at the Estádio da Luz for the Benfica-PSG dispute on matchday three of the Champions League and could not help winking at what was possibly his most splendid moment as a madridista.

“A special comeback, a place where we were happy,” the defender wrote on Instagram, a text that was accompanied by a photo of him in the French team’s suit inside the stadium that brings back such good memories.

Ramos was one of the heroes of Madrid’s Décima, won against Atlético de Madrid. His goal in minute 93 led to extra time in a match that the colchoneros already saw in his pocket. Subsequently, the rojiblanco team fell apart and three more goals from the white team (Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano) gave the title to the team led by Carlo Ancelotti in his first spell on the Madrid bench.
