The Quindians Nicolás Morales and Sergio Zapata made it 1-2, in the sub-17 category, in the Colombia Badminton Cup that was played in Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca, with the assistance of the eight best players in the country (both branches).
Édgar Mejía, from Valle del Cauca, got third place behind Nicolás Morales, the champion, and Sergio Zapata, who was the runner-up.
Hugo Morales, badminton coach from Quindío, recognized the achievements stating that “we are very happy with the results, we see how the delegation has no rival in this category. The boys are ahead, always scoring in the ranking and we look optimistically at what is to come in the future for the department. We have already turned the page and we have begun to prepare the valid one for teams that will be held in Yumbo, qualifying for the 2023 National Sports Games ».
Being sub-17 players, Nicolás Morales and Sergio Zapata recently won the subtitle, in the doubles modality, in the third valid of the National Championship for Seniors that took place in the city of Armenia and they continue to be excited about attending the next Olympic Games in youth.
