Manix Mandiola’s Olot is being resisted the start of the league in the new category. Yesterday, the Garrotxins conceded another defeat, by the minimum, against Penya Deportiva (1-0), which leaves them at the bottom of the third group of Segona RFEF and with a balance so far of 2 points out of 15 possiblewithout having yet tasted the taste of victory.
Olot came out on the field wanting to break the bad dynamics and add the first three points of the course, but again we saw a version of the team with problems in front to create chances. Cerdà had the first, just three minutes after the start of the match, taking advantage of a cross from Manel Busquets, who shortly afterwards also starred in a dangerous action. Even so, Penya did not take long to wake up and claim dominance, scoring shortly after half an hour of play the first and only goal of the duel, by Chema Moreno, from a set piece, finishing off a cross from barrier
In the second half, Olot tried again to find the opponent’s goal, without success, and Penya strengthened in defense to keep the result in their favor. Forgas tried a header inside the small area, Sebas did it with a central shot that would stop Edu Frías and Uri enjoyed another that was again denied by the local goalkeeper. Manolo González’s team also had some, the clearest, again, from Moreno, which Batalla prevented from getting on the scoreboard.
The Olotins will have a new opportunity next week to get back together with the victory, at home, against Formentera.
