Nicaragua y Brazil They faced each other this Wednesday night in the decisive match to achieve the last quota for the World Classic 2023. The Nicaraguans won 3-1 over the Brazilians and will be in the biggest baseball competition at the national team level for the first time in its history.
Nicaragua got the thorn out of it after they lost 4-1 to Brazil in their first game of these qualifiers heading to the Classic, however they were able to beat them in the most important game.
The “Nicas” made two runs in the top part of the first episode, Brazil discounted in the bottom of the fourth and in the seventh inning they scored the third and final.
Osman Gutiérrez was the winning pitcher after throwing 6.0 complete innings, they connected him with 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and struck out 5.
Nicaragua’s best hitters were Steven Leyton who went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Cheslor Cuthbert 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
