Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks of action with a groin tear, sources told ESPN.
Bosa underwent surgery Thursday, a day after being placed on the disabled list, for the same injury his brother Nick Bosa suffered at Ohio State University.
Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said last week that Bosa “will not be returning in the near future.”
In Bosa’s absence, the Chargers will look to Chris Rumph II and linebacker Kyle Van Noy. The Chargers also claimed Derrek Tuszka off waivers last week.
