(Reuters) – Defending champions Warriors defeated the Lakers 123-109 in the NBA’s opening day on Friday.
The Warriors led the Warriors with a game-high 33 points and four steals from Stephen Curry, 20 from Andrew Wiggins and 18 from Klay Thompson.
The Lakers ace LeBron James showed presence with 31 points and 14 rebounds, Anthony Davis had 27 points, and Russell Westbrook had 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The Celtics beat the 76ers 126-117. Jayson Tatum had a double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown contributed 35 points.
For the Sixers, James Harden had 35 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, while Joel Embiid had 26 points and 15 rebounds.
