Leclerc ahead of Verstappen for final test in Singapore

The Monegasque set the fastest time in the 3rd free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix, ahead of the championship leader, on Saturday on the Marina Bay street circuit.

Advantage Charles Leclerc for the moment against Max Verstappen. In a session halved due to heavy rain in Singapore, the Ferrari driver confirmed that the Scuderia were in good shape at the Asian circuit. After ten laps completed by the pilots, at nightfall in the city-state, the dolphin in the world championship dominated the leader Verstappen by half a second. Promising before qualifying on Saturday (3:00 p.m. French time) and the 17th round of the season on Sunday (2:00 p.m.). Especially since the Monegasque, who has 116 points less than the Dutchman, must have a good result on Sunday to prevent Verstappen from being titled.

The Batavian indeed has a first chance of a title in Singapore, even if it depends on a victory on the one hand, and the results of Leclerc and his teammate Sergio Pérez on the other hand. In the event of a win, Verstappen would be titled if Leclerc finishes ninth or above and if Pérez finishes fourth or above (without getting the fastest lap point) – or fifth or above with the fastest lap point. If he wins with the fastest lap point, Verstappen would even be titled if Leclerc finishes eighth, and Pérez fourth.
