LeBron James renews claim to Vegas

LeBron James has again recommended that the NBA expand to Las Vegas and wants to own the club himself if possible.

“I would like to have a team here at some point. That would be great,” said the Los Angeles Lakers superstar on Wednesday (local time) after a test in the player metropolis against the Phoenix Suns (115:119). (NEWS: Everything about the NBA)

The four-time NBA champion reached out directly to Commissioner Adam Silver. “Well, I want a team here, Adam. Thanks,” James said. He knows that the league boss is currently in Abu Dhabi, “but he probably reads every single interview and transcript of NBA players.” From a legal point of view, the professional can only pursue this plan after the end of his career.

James loses again with Lakers

James had already expressed interest in owning an NBA team in Las Vegas in June. The 37-year-old is already a co-owner of English football club Liverpool FC and baseball franchise Boston Red Sox. In addition to Las Vegas, Seattle is also being traded as a possible new NBA location. At the moment, an expansion beyond the 30 current teams is not an issue. (SERVICE: The Tables of the NBA)

Against Phoenix, James was the Lakers’ top pitcher with 23 points in the second loss in the second preseason game. New signing Dennis Schröder was missing again, the captain of the German national team was stuck in Germany until the very end due to a missing visa.
