Kortrijk/Ghent/CharleroiDid you also enjoy Jurgen ‘Brantt’ Vanbrabant from Ghent last Tuesday? The exiled Kortrijkzaan single-handedly encouraged the players of KV Kortrijk in the Stade du Pays de Charleroi. The Chamber of Commerce now honors Brantt with a playful video.
It was touching to watch, how Jurgen Vanbrabant (45) aka ‘visual artist and art handler’ Brantt climbed the turret singing, into the spy head for the visitors at Mambourg. “Come on Kortrijk, come on Kortrijk, come on!” Brantt kept repeating it out loud. Until he no longer had a voice. Fortunately, he didn’t have to queue for a beer, to rinse his throat. It produced beautiful images, as can be seen in a video distributed by KV Kortrijk at the end of this week.
The KVK supporters clubs did not travel to Charleroi in buses, the match started there on Tuesday October 18 at 6.30 pm, in protest against early midweek football and matches late on Sunday evening. Which Brantt understood, but he decided to go to Charleroi anyway, by train. At the KVK they offer their apologies in the video, because they ‘forgot’ to inform Brantt of the supporters action.

“But Brantt did a fantastic job. What an enthusiasm. Big hats,” it sounds in the video. Charleroi’s supporters think so too. “Allez Courtrai, chante avec nous,” the Carolo’s spy head addressed Brantt on Tuesday. Beautiful. The commentator talked about his ‘fifteen minutes of fame’ on Eleven Sports, but it’s more than that. Jurgen Vanbrabant has since been the most famous supporter of the Kerels.
