Kanye West before the Balenciaga show
Kanye West walked the Fashion Week catwalks for the first time this Sunday, October 2.
Kanye West struck again by opening the Balenciaga Summer 2023 collection show, with an entry that stole the show from the entire collection.
Dressed in black, Ye walked down a mud-filled podium wearing leather pants, a jacket with a “safety” patch and a baseball cap. According to some magazines, the children of Kanye North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint West all attended the Balenciaga show, as did Kylie Jenner, Doja Cat and many other artists.
Balenciaga creative director Denma explained the muddy catwalk as “a metaphor for digging into the truth and being down to earth.”
“I decided to no longer explain my collections and verbalize my creations, but to express a state of mind. Fashion is a visual art and all we need is for it to be seen through someone’s eyes. Fashion at its best shouldn’t need a story to sell to someone. Whether you like it or not. This whole show is a metaphor for digging into the truth and being down to earth.”
West’s catwalk appearance comes two weeks after Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga Part Two launched. A collection available through the official Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga websites, as well as other online vendors namely Farfetch, Mytheresa and Luisaviaroma, the collection offers a range of outerwear and sweaters.
Ye was the guest star of the Balenciaga Summer 2023 show! This Sunday, October 2 in Villepinte, in the Parisian suburbs, the rapper from “College Dropout” therefore paraded in a monochrome look and it is certain that this is not the last surprise that Kanye has in store for us.
