Kaleb Bowman signs minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers
At the beginning of September, the Guggenberger Legionnaires announced on their website that Kaleb Bowman was returning to his home country – the USA – with the goal of realizing his dream of playing in the MLB. At that time, the RHP had not yet signed a contract with an MLB organization, but was already in negotiations (Link).
Bowman has now taken an important step towards the MLB dream: On October 2, 2022, the American-born signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Since returning to the United States, Bowman has played for the Gastonia Honey Hunters in the Independent Atlantic League. In 7.0 innings (IP) he shone with 4 hits (H), 1 earned run (ER), 10 strikeouts (SO) and 0 walks (BB).
In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Bowman played in the 1st Bundesliga for the Guggenberger Legionnaires and was awarded ‘Best Pitcher South’ in 2021 (Link). In the past Bundesliga season 2022 (regular season + playoffs), the 25-year-old on the mound impressed with strong stats: he was a starter (GS) 14 times. In 86.2 innings, he has 36 hits (H), 8 earned runs (ER), 3 home runs (HR), 14 walks (BB) and 137 strikeouts (SO).
