Jupiler Pro League – Antwerp score big win against Oostende and put pressure on Genk

In the first moments, Antwerp took control via Ritchie De Laet (1-0, 3rd). The defender found himself receiving a pass from Janssen from twenty meters and fired a cannon shot into the top corner of Philips. There were only for Antwerp and for De Laet who thought he had doubled the bet, but whose second goal was canceled for an offside by Janssen (19th).

Besides two attempts by the latter (23rd and 38th), the first half did not deliver a clear opportunity for either team. The Antwerpers therefore took the path of the locker room with the advantage.

It only took a few minutes in the second half for Antwerp to double their lead: Vincent Janssen found himself on the edge of the Ostend area and took it twice to cross towards the far post and towards Ekkelenkamp, who stretched his leg well to score (2-0, 53rd).

The coup de grace was inflicted by Michael Frey (3-0, 79th), who entered the game ten minutes earlier. The Swiss striker was after a collective action badly repelled by the Ostend defense to send the ball into the back of the net from the entrance of the six meters.

With this victory, Antwerp (33 points) is 1 point behind the leader, Genk. Ostend slips back to 17th place with only 11 points, tied with Seraing and Kortrijk and ahead of Zulte Waregem (8 points).
