Ducati’s attack was not long in coming and both Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini came from behind to get into the top ten on Desmosedici GP22 paths, while his compatriot Enea Bastinini (Ducati Desmosedici GP21) sought to improve those thousandths in some of the partial of the Thai track to get into the second direct classification, a goal that he fulfilled ‘in extremis’ to be eighth.

The Frenchman Johann Zarco, immovable in first place during all that time, saw how in the final minutes he was overtaken by both the Spanish Jorge Martín and the Australian Jack Miller (Ducati Desmosedici GP22), who crashed on his next lap and finished the batch before time, although he was able to leave the track on his own feet. That last attack by the Ducati riders left out of the second direct classification to Marc Márquezwho finished the session eleventh and just seven thousandths of a second separated him from tenth place, surpassed by Luca Marini and forced to go through the first classification.

Up to seven Ducati motorcycles entered the second classification, with the sole exception of Fabio Quartararo’s Yamaha, Darryn Binder’s KTM from South Africa and Alex Rins’s Suzuki from Spain. The rest of the protagonists of the second direct classification, Jorge Martín, Jack Miller, Johann Zarco, Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia, Enea Bastianini, Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, all of them with Ducati.
