James Parker and Bruno De Genaro conquered the last medals of the puntanos in the South American Games 2022

The handball player was bathed in gold with Los Gladiadores, while the “Cardenal” took silver in the 400-meter hurdles. In this way, the San Luis who competed in the international event contributed 9 medals to the Argentine harvest in Paraguay.

This Saturday the XII South American Games ended in Asunción, Paraguay. Argentina competed for two weeks with 14 countries and finished third in the medal table, behind Brazil and Colombia. The province had six representatives in chess, judo, athletics, men’s handball and women’s futsal.

The GMI Claudia Amura opened the game and won two gold and two silver medals in chess. Being an invited discipline for this edition, they did not add to the general medal table.

Then it was the turn of the judokas AGustina Lahiton and Keisy Perafan. Lahiton took the bronze in the category of up to 52 kg and in the mixed teams. Keisy, for her part, was fifth in the category up to 48 kg.

Melina QuevedoJuan Llerena’s player who currently plays for Racing Club, reached silver along with the Argentine women’s futsal team. Bruno De Genaroat just 19 years old, won his series of semifinals and in the final of the 400 meter hurdles he was only 5 hundredths of the gold, which finally went to the Colombian Fanor Escobar.

This Saturday, The Gladiators played the decisive match against Chile. It was an Argentine triumph by 29-21 with the presence of James Parker, who scored twice. In addition to winning the gold, the Argentine National Team qualified for the 2023 Pan American Games.

In this way, a more than satisfactory Games conclude for the San Luis representatives, who once again stood out and raised the flag of a province that supports and accompanies them in every step they take as athletes.
