Seeing the current position of Juventus, Allegri is reluctant to talk about the Scudetto. He just wants his team to focus on one match at a time, starting with facing Lecce on Saturday (29/10/2022) night WIB.
“We’ve only played 11 games, it’s pointless to talk about the Scudetto,” said Allegri as reported by Football Italia.
“Now we have to react and we have a chance to do it tomorrow. Napoli did amazing, so did Milan. Lazio, Inter and Roma did important things. We fell behind. The target is to close the gap, 27 games remaining, tomorrow is the first .”
“Tomorrow’s game will be challenging, we have to be at the same level as them and run as much as them. If necessary we have to be ready to play dirty.”
Expelled from the Champions League, Juventus also did not necessarily qualify for the Europa League and still had to compete with Maccabi Haifa on the last matchday. However, Allegri wants Juventus to focus first on the Italian League.
“There’s no point thinking about the Europa League now, we have to focus on Serie A. Tomorrow’s match will be complicated. Lecce drew against Fiorentina and Salernitana, they were neat and dangerous on the counter-attack,” continued Allegri.
“We need an important signal, we have to get out of this situation, but we’re not going to do it in just one game. These players have great moral values and I’m counting on that,” he said.
