Is it better to train tennis individually or in a group?

What are the advantages of training tennis individually or in a group? Both have their characteristics and are specific to work on one or the other things that we are going to see next.

Technically tennis is one of the most complicated sports to be able to practice at a remarkable level. This sport is practiced throughout the Spanish geography, although tennis in Barcelona is where it has one of its favorite cribs. Numerous stars have emerged in the Catalan capital, both in men’s and women’s tennis, who have given Spanish tennis great success. Catalonia also has some of the most prestigious tennis academies in the world and many professionals decide to train here to prepare for tournaments. Now, the training sessions are different if they are individual or in a group and each one of them makes us improve in a different way that we are going to analyze in the following lines.

Most professionals usually train with more people, in this case, the sparring partners or the coaches themselves. They usually have most of their strokes already well worked and need ball rhythm. It is true that sometimes they need to correct or find sensations with a shot and that is why they have individual sessions, for example with the service or the right parallel.

Differences personal training vs group training

Personal training

is positive for work on more technical aspects. For example a change of grip, a change of technique, a change of tactics or the different types of positions. Another aspect to highlight is that each player usually has a weak point and here it is you can prioritize to work more that blow. With this training you work solely and exclusively for the benefit of a player. Nor should we forget the strengths so that they can continue to make a difference.

Another great advantage over group training is that you don’t have to stop the class to correct a classmate that he is not doing what the coach needs to improve at that moment.

group training

These types of workouts are much more dynamic. Another of those great advantages over individual training is that you can jPlay with other people of a similar level or above that makes you push yourself to the max. Can work more rallies, rallies and play a set.

At a high level, groups should be a maximum of three people, at most four, although the best is three. The most negative part is that you cannot stop for a long time to explain, for example, a technical or grip change to just one player because the others would be stopped.
