Indonesia to the semifinals after defeating China

Indonesian badminton team advances to semifinals 2022 World Junior Championship. Indonesia qualified after getting rid of China in the quarterfinals with a score of 3-1.

In the match at the Palacios de Deportes de Santander, Santander, Spain, Thursday (20/10/2022) night WIB, Indonesia was behind China first. China won the first party in the mixed doubles.

Rafli Ramanda/Az-Zahra Putri Dania had to admit the superiority of Zhu Yi Jun/Liu Sheng Su. They lost two straight games with a score of 13-21, 15-21.

Indonesia equalized through Alwi Farhan who went down in the second party in the men’s singles number. Alwi beat Zhu Xuan Chen with a score of 21-16, 21-16.

Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, who played in the third party in the women’s singles number, brought Indonesia back ahead over China. Esther won over Zhang Xin Ran 21-7, 21-10.

Indonesia’s move to the semifinals of the 2022 World Junior Championships was confirmed by the men’s doubles of Muh Putra Erwiansyah/Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah. They overcame Xu Hua Yu/Zhu Yi Jun 21-17, 21-14.

Indonesia, which is the defending champion, will next face China Taipei in the semifinals of the 2022 World Junior Championships. Meanwhile, the other semifinal will bring together South Korea and Japan.
